Happy Shutdown Coaches!

For those who are not in the WBB world.: two times a year there is a recruiting shutdown for Division I coaches which means no recruiting whatsoever - no calls. text, emails, visits etc.  It was meant to give coaches a week to take a breath and recharge.  The problem in May is many still have their teams on campus and are actually in the thick of recruiting with the portal and shoring up the roster for next season. BUT everything must come to a HALT.  I always had mixed feelings about the Shutdowns.

That being said, if you are taking some time to recharge and get ready for a busy summer I have a double Top 10 Observations for you. 

Let's start with a Top 10 (in my opinion) of shows to watch or rewatch- some old some new and my list could change tomorrow - LOL

1. TED LASSO - love everything about this series - season 4 is out Aug.5th 

2. SHRINKING - I mean Harrison Ford - enough said there

3. THE PITT - Those of us that loved ER (THE medical show before Grey’s) believe the hype.  It is terrific

4. NURSE JACKIE - a rewatch for me - loved it just as much the second time.

5. THE MORNING SHOW  - Reese and Jen!

6. RUNNING POINT - watching Season 2 now - Kate Hudson and Hoops

7. The UPSHAWS - a great laugh and I was fortunate to meet Wanda Sykes at Unrivaled in Philly and she is the best

8. GRACE and FRANKIE - can watch Jane and Lily all day long

9. The GILDED AGE - if you are not sure if you like a period piece this one is a good start

10. Any NETFLIX Sports Documentaries - Start with Full Swing, Starting 5, and all of the UNTOLD series.

No Watch list would be complete without Sports Movies.  Because there are so many I am giving you my TOP Basketball Movies 

1. COACH CARTER - Our deepest FEAR is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…”

2. HOOSIERS - Classic of all classics - “I’ll make it”

3. LOVE and BASKETBALL - “PGs lead from the front”

4. WHITE MEN CAN’T JUMP - “we goin to Sizzler”

5. GLORY ROAD - love this story and message 

6. HUSTLE  - sleeper pick with Adam Sandler 

7. BLUE CHIPS - Shaq and Penny

8. SEMI-PRO - just a Will Ferrell fan

9. MIGHT MACS - the great Cathy Rush and Immaculata College’s journey to the top

10. HE GOT GAME - Denzel - thats it
